i eat white meat, but not red meat

Someone slipped me something during the week long party-a-thon at work. Nothing lethal to the average American, just red meat.

My stomach and intestines have been hating me. It’s been quite brutal. The only remedy seems to be eating lots of yogurt with different cultures. I ran out of yogurt yesterday after feeling mostly better. This morning, REVENGE.

My stomach wants to eat ME. How awful is that?

moving up in the world

Currently, our family is just shy of 1.4TB storage (this includes backups).

We’re moving up in the world because that’s no longer enough. 2.4TB here we come!

In a few years, Toby will find this milestone completely pointless.

I wonder how many boxes of sanitizer wipes the grocery stores goes through with people compulsively wiping down their carts. All of you with lowered immune systems or immune disorders are exempt from this commentary.

I never thought that invisible organisms would be the downfall of a civilization. I think I need to research some science fiction. Someone else may have thought this up.

This is an odd award. You’d expect it to come later in Obama’s presidency and tied to some particular event or accomplishment. But the unmistakable message of the award is one of the consequences of a period in which the most powerful country in the world, the ‘hyper-power’ as the French have it, became the focus of destabilization and in real if limited ways lawlessness. A harsh judgment, yes. But a dark period. And Obama has begun, if fitfully and very imperfectly to many of his supporters, to steer the ship of state in a different direction. If that seems like a meager accomplishment to many of the usual Washington types it’s a profound reflection of their own enablement of the Bush era and how compromised they are by it, how much they perpetuated the belief that it was ‘normal history’ rather than dark aberration. badbadbadnews

Bad news about a decision I make weekly, if not daily…

I can no longer afford my film addiction.
